Can you get too much Halo?

Halo Wars

It's been awhile since I have been able to voice my opinions on any games but after playing this one I had to make time. For those of you who do not know me I am not what you would consider a fan of the RTS (Real Time Strategy) genre, I have always steered clear of spending my hard earned money on something that I was not very sure about, but after playing Halo Wars my views have been changed dramatically. Halo Wars was designed in my opinion for those of us who are not as familiar with all of the workings of an RTS game. Unlike other RTS games ie. Command and Conquer the inventory system on HW is less confusing due to a smaller selection but it still keeps the action interesting with all of the little details. The map design in the game is very well done and not over sized which limits you from wasting your time exploring instead of building you army to crush your opponent whether you are playing against someone online or just the AI. If you have yet to play this game it takes place before any of the Halo Trilogy so you will not recognize any of the main characters in the game but it makes for a great addition to the Halo story.

The campaign mode in the game is on of my favorite parts, especially if I am playing Co-Op with one of my friends. You work together to destroy the opposing forces and complete all of the objectives and pick up achievement points, skulls and black boxes along the way. The cut scenes in the game are something of greatness, the graphics are stellar and just being able to watch 3 UNSC Spartans lay waste to several Elites is timeless.

Ok on to the online play. Although I am a huge fan of many multiplayer games this one is not one that I enjoy as much as others. Don't get me wrong it is extremely fun to play against someone you don't know but to me it just cant compare to the amount of fun that you can have going through the campaign with one of your buddies. So in conclusion, if you are steering clear of Halo Wars for the simple fact that it is an RTS take it from me it is easy to learn and even more fun to play.
